A Roundup of the Broadview Community Initiative

The employees of the Broadview Family have been active in the community over the past few months. Whether they have been saving animals, walking or racing for a cure, providing Thanksgiving meals, or building houses, this team has been able to pull off effectively serving their community and then getting back to business.

KEEPING PIP AFLOAT

Our Long Beach branch was recognized by the ABC Unified School District at their luncheon for the Primary Intervention Program (PIP).  The program recently had their state funding cut, but with the help of Broadview Mortgage Long Beach, they were able to keep the program operations afloat.  At the event, the Long Beach team recieved an award from Congresswoman Linda Sanchez.

SUMMER FUN

The Long Beach branch gathered as many volunteers that it could for the Long Beach VA Hospital at their annual summer BBQ.  Volunteers took time to deliver food to patients, spend time with our nation's soldiers, and helped run a booth at the delicious summertime event.

WALKING FOR A CAUSE

One of our Broadview employees and her family completed her second annual walk for luekemia.  Family participants included all ages, ranging from a one-month old child to grandparents!

OUR FOUR-LEGGED HEARTHROB

Meet Fozzy Bear.  Fozzy is an 8 year old male Golden Retriever/Chow mix.  One of our employees helped to raise awareness for donations to the Orange County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, who would help keep up with his medical treatments so that he could feel good in the midst of his thyroid problem, skin problem, ear infections, and the inoperable tumor at the base of his heart.

BEACHIN' FOR BREAST CANCER

The September 2014 charity of the month was the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5k in support of breast cancer.  Our employees made a run for it at the beach on September 28th in Newport (see what I did there?).

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BROADVIEW!

Our President and CEO recieved an award from the city of Orange for its 25th year of business.  Broadview Mortgage was recognized for its initiatives with local schools and eco-friendly endeavors such as encouraging our employees to take public transit to work, or carpools.

LABOR DAY: PLAY BALL

Our Long Beach branch spent their labor day off work on the softball field.  At the Broadview-sponsored 2nd Annual Soldier Softball game, Congresswoman Linda Sanchez threw the first pitch and thanked the veterans for their service to our country.  The team also spent time with our vets at the VA Hospital on Veteran's Day.

BUILDING HOMES, REPAIRING LIVES

Broadview's October 2014 Charity was Homes for Our Troops.  Some of our employees volunteers in Murrieta, CA on October 18th to help build and repair a home for a Marine Corporal Jon Schumacher.  Broadview Mortgage raised a total of $810 for this cause.  For more information about Corporal Jon Schumacher, click here.

TIME TO BE THANKFUL

We know we are very lucky to have food on our tables, thats why we chose Families Forward as our November 2014 Charity of the month.  For those without the luxury of food on their dinner table, we raised almost $700 company wide as well as non-perishable donations to provide food for 9 families for their Thanksgiving meal.  For more information about this charity, click here.
